ArtSnacks: November 2018

Each “menu” in an ArtSnacks box has a call to action, which is called the ArtSnacks Challenge. It asks subscribers to create a piece of art with the supplies that are included in the box. For this month, I created a drawing of a pomegranate. I sketched with the MegaGraphite pencil, painted with the acrylic gouache—using my Galeria paintbrush, of course—and used the Microperm pen to add texture and shading to the art.

My monthly ArtSnacks always sparks something creative in me, especially when the box feels like it was made just for me! Everything in this box was one hundred percent something that I would purchase myself, including acrylic paint in one of my go-to colors, and an expanding bag that I didn't realize I needed until I was filling it up with  my favorite pens.

It's finally June, which is crazy because 2016 is already half gone. The good news, however, is that my Art Snacks box is here and I'm thrilled about it! I'm sure you're curious to see what goodies were hiding inside, and so was I. So thrilled, in fact, that I postponed my mini-getaway just so that I could open it.

I tried to search the web to find out what my favorite artists online used to record their videos, but it was a fruitless quest. Not one result was available to me about which cameras worked best or where to position the recording device—and there were absolutely no tips or tricks on the process of achieving such a feat. So I now present you with the post I wish I could have found.

Review: Posca Paint Pens

I'm immediately impressed by how vibrant the colors are, how opaque the paint is, and how thin of a line the Posca pens produce. These are all pros for me, especially because the pens are all highly pigmented. All colors appear just as vibrant on dark surfaces as they do on white bristol paper.
